Prius Traction Control ?   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #90032 of 114941 |
I took delivery of a 2005 Prius in Jan. 2005
Got some driving in snow covered roads.
Noticed that if both tires were on slippery surface that there would
not be any power to the drive wheels. ( No spinning what so ever )

I realize that traction control is supposed to help provide traction in
slippery conditions. But this car has no power to the wheels at all
when both are on slipery surfaces.

With other cars you can at least spin the wheels and get some movement.
This system is like having a clutch disconnecting power and you go
absolutly no where.

Any one else experence this in snow?

How can this be an improvement?

... Higher traction all-season tires will do the trick too. That's what many owners switch to after the factory ones wear out, since they are nothing special. ...
